Smithfield is a town in Isle of Wight County, in the Hampton Roads region of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It has a population of approximately 8,100 and is 10 square miles in size. The Median Household Income is $43,224.

Smithfield offers residents a small-town atmosphere, in a community striving to preserve its southern charm. It boasts a good school system, affordable housing, a historic downtown, and a new state-of-the-art community/conference center. The town is most famous for the curing and production of the Smithfield ham. Smithfield Foods, a Fortune 500 Company that is headquartered in Smithfield, is the world’s largest pork processor and hog producer.
